When life gives you a kitchen remodel, make dessert in the microwave! This Blueberry Cherry Crumble is a deliciously simple recipe that saved the day when my late husband invited guests over for dinner during our kitchen renovation. Without an oven or refrigerator, I had to get creative. The result? A quick and easy dessert that’s now a family favorite.

Even if you’re not facing a kitchen crisis, this crumble is perfect for any home baker or dessert enthusiast looking for a no-fuss, crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 Cup Softened Butter
  • 1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Oatmeal
  • 3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
  • 1 30-ounce Can of Cherry Pie Filling
  • 1 Pint Fresh or Frozen Blueberries

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Crumble Mixture

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, all-purpose flour, oatmeal, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well until the ingredients form a crumbly texture.

Step 2: Create the Crust

  1. Spread 2/3 of the crumble mixture evenly on the bottom of a glass 13×9 pan or a tart pan.
  2. Microwave the crust for 3 minutes. This will help set the base and give it a nice, warm texture.

Step 3: Add the Fruit Filling

  1. Carefully cover the warm crust with the cherry pie filling.
  2. Evenly distribute the fresh or frozen blueberries over the cherry filling.

Step 4: Top It Off

  1. Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture over the fruit filling.

Step 5: Final Cooking

  1. Microwave the assembled crumble for 6 minutes. This will cook the topping to a golden-brown perfection.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

  1. Allow the crumble to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy it warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
